The London postage stamp

This was a typically small London ‘postage stamp’ garden overlooked by adjoining Victorian terraces. The owners wanted to maximise its potential with luxuriant planting and a little bit of green under their toes. We made the mixed boundary fences recede by painting it a french grey and added shape and formality with box hedging and topiary forms. Grasses, flowering perennials and vibrant annuals gave the garden colour and depth, whilst potted bulbs added seasonal interest. The result was a lovely small green sanctuary in the midst of surrounding urban landscape.
